Job Description

This position picks loose material orders for all lumber products including panels, hardware, EWP and other products as assigned by the warehouse manager. This position is stationed at the SCS Warehouse and is called upon to unload incoming trucks and other duties assigned by the warehouse manager. Responsible for keeping areas inside and outside SCS a neat and clean working environment. Performance reviews will be rated on Safety, Quality, Attitude, and Work Ethic.  

Essential Functions  

  • Picks all loose material orders accurately using an 8K Combilift.
  • Safe operation of forklift for moving products to the plant or staging area.
  • Correctly banding, stacking and marking of product according to predetermined guidelines.
  • Efficiently organizes and maintains this product family's storage areas.  
  • Ensure that product is protected from exposure to the elements.
  • Conducts end of month inventory and/or cycle counts for assigned product families.
  • Unloads railcars and incoming trucks as needed.
  • Performs as a backup for other fork drivers.
  • Must have ability to operate a forklift with damaging resale or finished products as well as equipment.  
  • Receive incoming shipments, processes all necessary paperwork to the Shipping & Receiving office.
  • Work in other areas or projects in the absence of work.
  • Any other duties assigned by Warehouse Manager.
  • Assists in loading trucks as needed.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Minimum 1-2 years certified forklift experience operating in manufacturing environment
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Ability to read, write and understand English
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to pass drug test
  • Ability to maintain good attendance

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience operating multi-directional lifts 
  • Experience operating tele-handler
  • Warehouse experience helpful but not necessary
  • High School Diploma or GED

 Work Environment and Physical Demands

  • Outdoors 100% of the time, all weather.
  • Safe lifting of up to 100 pounds.
